School is almost here, and Equal Writes is back!

Students are trickling back onto the Princeton campus, and we’re happy to report that the bloggers of Equal Writes are back behind their computers, ready to starting posting full-time. If you’ve kept up with the blog over the summer, you’ve seen that we haven’t taken a full hiatus from our writing duties. Thanks to all of our writers who kept us informed of their summer thoughts and adventures, and thanks to all of our readers who tuned in to our summer posts. But starting today, we’re back in full force, ready to begin the second year of Equal Writes.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe that EW was founded a little less than a year ago. We’ve had an amazing 634 posts since last September, and we have a strong (and growing) team of bloggers, ready to bring you their insights into feminism and gender issues both on-campus and in the wider world. We’ve also been given an exciting opportunity to interact with the online feminist community, which you’ll certainly benefit from. We’ve been invited to guest-write for Feministe, a kick-ass blog, for two weeks this September, and our writers will be pulling out all the stops. So stay tuned for some truly fantastic (and prolific) writing.

We’d like to welcome the bloggers who have joined us this summer: Jen Carl, Kaite Welsh, Nidya Sarria and Jillian Hewitt. Nidya and Jillian are Princeton students, Jen is a 5th-year at NYU, and Kaite is a freelancer from England. We’re excited to have all of them on board. And if you’re interested in writing for us, please let us know – we haven’t yet begun our fall recruitment, and we need as many feminist bloggers as we can get! We’ll be posting information about our introductory meeting as it approaches.

As always, we look forward to reading your comments on our posts. Equal Writes is designed to be a dialogue about gender, feminism, sexuality and other crucial issues, and with your help, we’re keeping that dialogue alive here at Princeton. Let’s make the second year of Equal Writes as successful as the first!

Lots of love,

Amelia and Josh
